5 insane crash diets

I have been a fat person till sometime back. I remember telling my mother that ‘I wish I had an axe so I can cut off all the ugly looking fat hanging from my body’. Yes fat is something very unwanted and people are going to just about any extent to get rid of it. One way is crash diet. Crash diets have quite a grip on the society today majorly because of unbelievable celebrity weight loss stories. The aim of any crash diet is to consume as less as 700 calories a day whereas your body needs 2000 calories to function appropriately. Crash diets are no good because it sends your body into starvation mode (the fear of not being fed again) hence it starts saving up on calories for further survival. This activity then slows down your metabolism i.e. its tendency to burn calories. You might actually end up gaining weight with crash dieting. The world is full of people who like to test their grit to extremes. This extremism hovers over to their eating habits too. Some people opt for insane crash diets.

Here are some crazy diet plans people are somehow following.

  1. Ketogenic enteral nutrition diet

This is a gross diet. I mean it involves a feeding” tube to lose weight.

It’s a plastic or rubber tube, which enters the body through the nose, moves through the esophagus and into the stomach that was till sometime back used to feed patients with an obstructed ability to eat but is now also used as a weight loss tool. You have to move with this horrifying tube in your nose all the time.

2. The cotton ball diet

I am sure you would have got it by now as to what it’s all about. I had my heart in my mouth when I read about this diet. Cotton balls are what you eat all day long. And if by chance you get sick of eating plain cotton balls you can dip them in juice or something. And I say to myself how anyone can be so grossed out to eat this.

3. Breatharianism

Breatharians believe they can solely live on the energy they get from sunlight .They don’t eat no physical food to survive. They say that food or in some cases water, are not necessary for survival, and that humans can be sustained solely by prana which is a vital life force in Hinduism.

4. Ice- cube diet

This diet involves ice cubes containing hoodia to help you lose weight. Hoodia is a supplement that is known for suppressing appetite. The Ice Cube Diet is designed to help curb your appetite due to the hoodia within them. Ice cubes for this diet are made by Desert Labs and are to be eaten when you feel the urge to snack. The ice cubes from the Ice Cube Diet claim to be better than diet pills because they are frozen and contain more hoodia.

Although many believed that hoodia had weight loss benefits, others have said there is no scientific evidence supporting that. These ice cubes are very expensive when you consider that you are paying for ice. But it does seem to be working for some people. They are losing weight.

5. Facial analysis diet

This diet involves determining your unique facial type. Once you know your ‘type’ you are then given a list of foods to eat and foods to avoid. It is believed that once you know what foods your body is intolerant you can easily manage you weight. For example: Red or puffy cheeks could mean you are lactose intolerant or intolerant to dairy products. Then your diet would be designed without any dairy produce. Kate Winslet claims she lost 50pounds with this diet.

Go for healthy ways to lose weight. A healthy body is a combination of exercise and right food. Besides this, ones you get off your crash diet you are instantly bound to gain weight. If you want it to last longer go the healthy way. Anyone can stop eating but working hard for it is a fighter’s thing.
